codeship build error: This command didn't output anything for 10 minutes, thus we stopped it.

You may experience of below issue when you use codeship's test script:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This command didn't output anything for 10 minutes, thus we stopped it.
Please make sure your steps regularly print to standard out or standard error.
If the error is on our end please inform us so we can help you to fix this.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That may because you  have a command output a lot of result. for example:

after compile you may have a big /dist folder for all your result. A git commit or git add command will give you a lot of output. codeship sometime cann't handle that much output and you will get above error. (most of time you are not able to see above error,  your build page on codeship.com will broken and frozen and like your IE or chrome is down. )

You need run your scripts in “silent mode” (without output).

solution:

change your script to:

git add --all &> /dev/null
git commit -m "xxxxx" &> /dev/null
