how to install openfire into ubuntu

you may have issue of install openfire due to you don't have default-jre-headless .
to install it, you need to run: sudo apt-get install default-jre-headless

all scripts are:

wget -O openfire.deb http://download.igniterealtime.org/openfire/openfire_4.0.3_all.deb

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install default-jre-headless

sudo dpkg --install openfire.deb

After that, you will see this:

to verify your openfire is installed and running, then you can run:

ps -ef | grep openfire

If your openfire is running ok, then you should be able to see a lot of output like me.

Then you can open a browser and access:

http://localhost:9090

Then it will ask you to setup the server's settings

You need to give a password to your admin. the email address is nothing important and do remember this, the login name is "admin", not the email address. you will need this after the setup.
